Build a training module

A module is a short course: a few lessons from the material you already have, then a quiz. Create it, choose who sees it, add the lessons, and you can see which partners have finished it.

Before you begin

  • The material you already train partners with: PDF files, MP4 recordings, or links to videos and web pages.
  • A decision on who the module is for. Every partner, a saved segment, or a handful of partners you name.
  • If you want to target a segment, the segment itself. You can create one from the module dialog.
Step 1

Create the module and choose who sees it

Open Training and choose Create Module. Give it a title, an optional description and a category: Product Training, Sales Training, Onboarding, Certification, Compliance or Other. Categories are what the Filters panel on the module list sorts by.

Then decide who should see it. All partners covers everyone you work with, including partners who join later. A segment targets a saved group, such as resellers in one region, and the dialog tells you how many partners match and how many of them can see it. Pick partners is a fixed list of the partners you tick.

Save as Draft keeps the module to yourself until you come back to it. Add Content takes you straight to the upload screen, and the module goes live to its audience as soon as its first lesson saves.

  1. Open Training and choose Create Module.
  2. Give the module a title and a category.
  3. Choose who should see it.
  4. Pick a segment. Partners who match it later see the module too.
  5. Add Content saves the module and opens the upload screen.
  6. The module is in your list, ready for its lessons.
Step 2

Add the lessons

Each item you add becomes one step of the module. Choose a type, then drop in the file or paste the link with a title. Items save as you add them, so there is nothing to submit at the end.

  • PDF file, up to 50 MB. Word and PowerPoint material can be saved to PDF first.
  • Video (Upload MP4), up to 500 MB.
  • Video (Embed Link): YouTube, Vimeo, Loom and similar, played inside the lesson.
  • Web Link: an article, a product page, or a course in another LMS.

Partners work through the steps in the order you added them, and a step unlocks only once the one before it is complete. To add more later, open the module, use the menu next to its title and choose Add New Content.

  2. Give it a title and paste the link. YouTube, Vimeo and Loom all play.
  3. Add Link. It saves straight away.
  4. Every item is a step. Partners take the steps in this order.
Step 3

Track who has finished

A module's Overview tab carries its headline numbers: total learners, completion rate, average quiz score, average time spent and badges earned. Partner Progress breaks those down by partner organisation, with the number of people enrolled, their average score, how far through they are and when they last opened it.

Filter by Not started, In progress or Complete to find who needs a nudge, and export the list as CSV when it needs to go to a channel manager or into a report. Click a partner to see the same detail for each of their people.

Where to go next

Common questions

Who can see a module once I create it?

Whoever you chose under "Who should see this?". All partners includes partners who join later. A segment includes anyone who matches it later, and editing the segment changes the audience straight away. Pick partners is a fixed list: partners who join later do not see it.

Can I change the order of the lessons?

Lessons play in the order you added them. To move one, delete it and add it again where you want it. The remaining steps renumber themselves.

Can partners skip ahead?

No. Each step unlocks when the previous one is complete, so the quiz always comes after the lessons it tests.

Can I give a module a deadline?

Yes, by putting it in a partner journey. Every journey step carries a due date counted from the day the partner is enrolled, with reminders before it falls due. See build a partner journey.

What is the Engagement Scores tab?

A per-partner view across all of your training: an engagement score and a training score for each partner organisation, with filters for active, at-risk and inactive partners and a CSV export. View Details breaks a partner down by person.

Can partners see each other's progress?

No. A partner sees its own organisation's progress on a module, person by person. Only your team sees progress across partners.

We will build a module from it with you on the call, assign it to a segment of your partners and show you the progress view.
